All building foundations have been completed with framing and roof trusses installed on the first two buildings and roof sheathing completed on the first.
The EarthCam covering the jobsite is now online and viewable. Please follow the link.
Lots of stub outs are starting to be placed. Stub outs are drains, electrical conduits and other utilities that are ran under the foundation. We also captured a picture of a baby, momma, and daddy excavators. LOL!!!
We also got the drone in the air for a nice picture.
Ever wonder what this small out building is behind the PE Building? This building currently houses the boiler that heats the Student Service/Admin and Theater buildings. This past week the construction crew dug a trench from the jobsite to this out building for underground utilities. Part of the project is a new boiler that will heat the new Creative Arts, Student Services/Admin and Theater buildings.
The upper parking lot behind PE is still closed off this week to parking. If you are in the area, please be aware of construction workers and equipment.
Kernan is digging away, and the building foot print is starting to take shape.
Starting next week there will be impact to the college campus. The upper parking lot behind the Gym will be closed off to all parking other than construction. The parking lot will be open to foot traffic at all times. If you normally park in this area, please plan to park elsewhere. If you walk around this area, please be aware of your surroundings.
We are still in process of procuring a construction camera so please stay tuned.
Last week you may have seen lots of trucks on campus. Kernan was busy treating the soil and prepping it for this week compaction work. There will be less truck traffic this week and less interruptions to the campus community. After compaction work comes setting forms for footings.
Kernan is digging and digging some more. There is a ditch or a swell for those of you that know construction to provide a location for water runoff.
Stay tuned, we are working on a live cam.
Ground work has begun and over the next 3-4 weeks Kernan Construction will be moving 17,000 cubic yards of dirt for the Creative Art building footing/foundation. Once the dirt has been removed and leveled, the next step will be forming the footing/foundation forms.
If walking or driving around the construction site, please keep an eye out for equipment and workers.
